Shelburne Vineyard

Project

Shelburne Vineyard.

Shelburne Vineyard, one of Vermont’s original wineries, came to us looking for a label refresh. The success of this redesign led to the opportunity for us to work with their winemaker Ethan Joseph to help create Iapetus, a new brand for the winery.

Continue reading to hear about the most prized request we received from Shelburne Vineyard after the work for Iapetus was completed.

The crescendo to our relationship came when we were asked to help them create a new brand platform for the winery. Many legacy brands need to evolve as their industry, customer base and marketing opportunities change. Shelburne Vineyard was in an enviable position as they recognized this need to analyze their market position early and were ready to grow and change. We were truly honored to help guide this fantastic crew of people to their new “place”. If anyone knows how important place is, it’s a winery.

The resulting brand strategy work gave a new voice to a legacy brand. We helped put strategy and actions together that allows them to both cater to its long standing advocates and supporters while beginning a new chapter and relationship with new customers and new wines.

The Challenge

Many legacy brands need to evolve as their industry, customer base and marketing opportunities change. Shelburne Vineyard was in an enviable position as they recognized this need to analyze their market position early and were ready to grow and change. We were truly honored to help guide this fantastic crew of people to their new “place”.

The Solution

We utilized our RIVAL UP! Your Brand series of in-person workshops to get to the heart of their brand. We worked through internal elements of their business such as purpose, vision, mission, values and personality and archetypes to help create alignment within the team about who they were. We also conducted a competitive audit to better understand the regional marketplace they were operating in.

The Results

If anyone knows how important “place” is, it’s a winery. The resulting brand strategy work gave a new voice to a legacy brand. We put the strategy and supportive actions together in a new brand book that provides guidance on how to cater to its long standing advocates and supporters while beginning a new chapter and relationship with a generation of customers that have a unique outlook and vision themselves.
