Blake Hill Farm Preserves

Project

Blake Hill Preserves

Blake Hill was founded in 2009. As the story goes, a friend shared a jar of their jam with the Grafton Village Store in Vermont and quickly thereafter an order was placed, and Blake Hill Preserves was born. They can now be found in some of the nation’s finest specialty food stores and their quality continues to be recognized with major award wins and media coverage every year.

The Challenge

Their growth was sudden and quick. When a food business grows that fast, they can outgrow the brand that got them started. The task was to reimagine their packaging. We discovered an undervalued story along the way that could support their ever-escalating level of quality.

The Solution

The brand strategy process uncovered a latent and important opportunity— tell the story about Vicky’s three-generation tradition of English preserve making and Joe’s upbringing in Gibraltar and experience with African, Spanish, and Italian cooking.

Their new label design, collateral and website laid the foundation for their exponential growth, highlighting their values toward ingredients and quality and created expansion opportunities that they have yet to see stop.

The Results

Within the months following and a period 1-2 years after our work, Blake Hill Preserves saw exponential growth rates as high as 700% as was soon being distributed nationally.
